Viña Edén

Premium label for Pinot Noir

When a wine aims for the premium category, the label has to do two things at the same time: position value in seconds and sustain that value throughout the selection process. For Viña Edén, the challenge was clear: to create an elegant label with presence, one that conveys quality and origin while incorporating a distinctive element of the project—the vineyard and the winery building as central features.

To achieve this, we started from a premise: in premium wines, the label cannot simply ‘decorate’ the product; it has to tell a believable story. We visited the vineyard and the winery, took photos and videos, and from that material built an original illustration capable of representing the real landscape: the vineyard rows, the topography, and the contemporary architecture integrated into its surroundings.

The second major constraint was technical (and, at the same time, an opportunity): the illustration had to be printable in two tones. We developed the artwork using an engraving/linework approach and controlled masses so it could work in two combinations: black + brown or black + green. We ultimately chose black + brown for its warmth, classic readability, and its ability to reinforce the premium character without losing territorial identity.

Result: a label that elevates perceived quality, builds differentiation from its origin, and turns a real feature of the winery into a brand asset.

The composition was also a strategic decision: the vineyard in perspective guides the eye toward the winery, balanced with a sober and strong typeface, where VIÑA EDÉN takes center stage and anchors the entire label. The result is a piece with a boutique feel, aligned with the world of great wines (classic, editorial, collectible) while maintaining a contemporary and local narrative.

What we did

  • Visit to the vineyard and winery + visual survey (photo and video)
  • Development of original illustration of the vineyard + building (engraving/linework style)
  • Technical adaptation for 2-color printing (black/brown and black/green alternatives)
  • Final palette definition: black + brown
  • Full premium label design (typographic hierarchy, composition, and final artwork)
